Two old TV theme songs started playing in my head this morning while I was getting up. First “My Favorite Martian” in the shower, and then “Kung Fu” while I was dressing. I have fond memories of “Kung Fu”. In my college days, we would watch reruns in the mini-dorm lounge and then go to dinner. A nice family-style activity for a group of college kids.
I watched some reruns of “My Favorite Martian” when I was a kid but don’t remember much about the show other than Ray Walston was “Uncle Martin” and Bill Bixby was his human “nephew”. I looked it up on YouTube and watched the pilot episode. I don’t know if I would buy a DVD set, but I like how they took their time to tell the story.
With my kids so much into theater in the Middle and High Schools, I sometimes look back wistfully on my theater major days in college and wonder what if……
The original production of “Sweeny Todd” was on Broadway then. We in the green room crowd would sometimes listen to “A Little Priest” in the dinning halls.
