I attended the first (annual?) New England Webcomics Weekend Saturday. I had a great time. I haven’t been to any of the big comic cons yet so it’s all new to me. It was a blast meeting people who’s work I have admired and meeting people and seeing work I didn’t know. I had a chance to have some nice discussions with Jorge Cham of Piled Higher & Deeper, Danielle Cosretto of Girls with Slingshots (I liked her original artwork and she liked my card and handshake), Rene Engstrom of Anders loves Maria (very nice watercolor work), Spike of Templar, Arizona (great brush work), Randy Milholland of Something Positive (got a sketch), Chris Hallbeck of The Book of Biff, Jeff Zugale of Just A Bit Off, and the “Gang of Four”, Brad Guigar of Evil Inc., Dave Kellett of Sheldon, Scott Kurtz of PvP, and Kris Straub of Starslip. I met and talked with more but it’s all blending together in my memory (and I didn’t take any notes). I’m jazzed and refreshed about doing my comic and want to be on the other side of the table next year. Guess I better finish my first book and figure out a way to advertise more. (Anne: “Joe, what’s this charge on the credit card?” Joe: “Ummm, nothing?”)
Can you tell me who did your layout? I’ve been looking for one kind of like yours. Thank you.
I’m using WordPress with the Comicpress theme. I customized the theme myself. I know just enough web design to be dangerous.
Though I failed to meet you at NEWW, I did pick up one of your One Small Step cards and now have read through the archives and added OSS to my List. See you next year!
