The Lay-off Fairy

Hi Guys,
Sorry I haven’t posted the strip the last few days. The lay-off fairy has given me another visit so I’ve been been ramping up my job search. My latest resume and samples are on my personal site, www.joekandra.com. I’ll still be posting OSS strips and who knows, maybe I’ll have time to finish that OSS book.
The layoff fairy is evil. He recently visited my wife’s office and layed off 80 people.
I don’t know if he’s evil by himself. He’s just the muscle. It’s the people who use his services who could be called evil. Especially when the company is profitable (like mine…grrrrrr)
Ditto with my wife’s company. There was an article in the paper the other day on how well the company is doing and that it still remains on the list of best places to work in Pennsylvania.
Aw, that stinks! Everyone knows that cartoonists are the smartest, most productive and handsomest members of any organization. I blame the bean-counters.
Was your layoff fairy anything like George Clooney & friends in “Up in the Air”?
I blame the bean counters too.And I AM the best looking designer they had in MA. ( ‘course I was the ONLY one they had in MA, but that’s beside the point)
No, George wasn’t the one to tell me. At least they told me themselves.
